This eleven-day journey extends the classic Lima, Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu route south into the Amazon basin, giving equal weight to the Andes and the rainforest rather than treating one as an afterthought to the other.
Lima opens the trip with two days on the coast, time enough for the clifftop parks above Miraflores and a kitchen scene now recognised well beyond South America, before the itinerary turns inland towards the Andes. The Sacred Valley follows, with Moray’s terraced circles and the salt pans at Maras giving a clear sense of Inca engineering before Pisac’s Sunday market adds a slower, more local pace to the day.
Rail travel through the Urubamba gorge leads to Machu Picchu, a private early entry ahead of the day’s first arrivals. Two nights in Cusco follow, the Qorikancha temple and the stonework at Sacsayhuamán, both within walking distance of the historic centre, before a short flight trades Andean altitude for the Amazon basin.
Three nights at a private lodge on the Madre de Dios River close the trip, dawn visits to a clay lick, oxbow lake excursions, and a night walk that shows a side of the rainforest most day visitors never see.

Days 1–2
Two nights at Belmond Miraflores Park, with the first day left open for the clifftop parks above the Costa Verde and the second built around a private tour of the historic centre and an afternoon in Barranco.

Days 3–4
A morning flight and private transfer reach the Sacred Valley directly, where two nights at Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba cover Moray’s terraces, the salt pans at Maras, and Pisac’s market.

Days 5–6
Rail travel through the Urubamba gorge to Aguas Calientes and an overnight at Belmond Sanctuary Lodge leads into a private early entry to the citadel, the terraces still holding the last of the night’s mist as the sun clears the surrounding peaks.

Days 7–8
Two nights at Belmond Hotel Monasterio, with time for the Qorikancha temple, the stonework at Sacsayhuamán, and the streets between them where Inca and colonial buildings share the same wall, before the trip turns south towards the Amazon.

Days 9–11
A short flight from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado, followed by a private boat upriver to Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica on the Madre de Dios River.
The days that follow are built around a dawn macaw clay lick visit, an afternoon oxbow lake excursion, and a night walk that reveals tarantulas, tree frogs, and caimans rarely seen by day.
The final morning is left unhurried before the flight north.
The Break of Dawn at Machu Picchu
A private early entry to Machu Picchu puts the citadel's first hour of daylight to yourselves, before the buses from town arrive.
A Harvest Evening in the Sacred Valley
A private stay at a working hacienda, with the Sacred Valley's terracing visible from the property itself.
An Unhurried Tasting Menu in Lima
A table arranged at one of Lima's most recognised kitchens, with a tasting menu that moves from the coast to the high Andes to the Amazon.
The Amazon at First Light
A private canoe departure before sunrise, timed to the hour the river is at its most active for wildlife.
The Night Sky Over Lake Titicaca
A private stargazing evening on Lake Titicaca's floating reed islands, arranged away from the mainland's light.
