Why Turks and Caicos?

Turks and Caicos built its reputation on one beach. Grace Bay on Providenciales consistently ranks among the best in the world, and the ranking is not wrong. Twelve miles of pale powder sand, calm turquoise water and a reef just offshore that keeps the surf gentle and the snorkelling exceptional. The resort collection that has grown along it over the past two decades is among the strongest in the Caribbean, with properties that compete with the best anywhere in the region.

Why Turks and Caicos

Turks and Caicos Travel Guides

  • Turks and Caicos Overview

Turks & Caicos has become one of the Caribbean’s premier luxury destinations because it excels at the fundamentals. Grace Bay is regularly ranked among the world’s best beaches, the water is remarkably clear, and many of the islands’ leading resorts and villas occupy stretches of coastline that would be considered exceptional anywhere in the region.

Unlike St. Barts, luxury here is less about being seen and more about having space. Unlike St. Lucia, the focus is not on sightseeing or adventure. Turks & Caicos is built around beachfront living, whether that means a villa with direct access to the sand, a private boat charter exploring the cays, or a resort where the sea becomes the centrepiece of every day.

The result is a destination that appeals to travellers who value privacy, comfort and exceptional accommodation. It is one of the few places in the Caribbean where the reality consistently matches the photographs, which helps explain why so many visitors return year after year.

  • Turks and Caicos things to do

Private Snorkel Charter to the Barrier Reef

A private boat to the barrier reef that runs along the north coast of Providenciales, with time in the water over some of the healthiest coral in the Caribbean. Arranged by Do Not Disturb with a guide who knows the best sections of the reef.

COMO Parrot Cay by Private Boat

A private transfer from Providenciales to Parrot Cay, the private island that holds one of the Caribbean’s most celebrated resort properties.

    Sunset Sailing Charter

A private catamaran charter along the Grace Bay coastline timed for the sunset, with champagne, a light supper on board and the reef visible in the shallower water below.

    Whale Watching

Humpback whales pass through the Turks Island Passage between January and April on their annual migration. A private charter positioned in the passage during this window offers one of the more extraordinary wildlife encounters available in the Caribbean.

  • Turks and Caicos hidden gems

    Salt Cay

Salt Cay is the most compelling of the lesser-known islands, a tiny, almost entirely undeveloped cay with a handful of guesthouses, historic salt pans dating back to the seventeenth century and some of the best whale watching in Turks & Caicos.

    Malcolm Roads Beach

On the western edge of Providenciales, Malcolm Roads Beach offers a quieter alternative to Grace Bay. The beach is spectacular, the water is just as clear and visitor numbers remain remarkably low.

The Fish Fry at Bight Park

Held every Thursday evening, the weekly Fish Fry is one of the most authentic local experiences on Providenciales. Local restaurants serve fresh seafood and island specialties alongside live music, creating a welcome contrast to the resort dining scene.

  • Turks and Caicos Overview weather

Turks and Caicos has one of the most reliably pleasant climates in the Caribbean. Temperatures range from 24 to 32 degrees Celsius year-round with relatively low humidity compared to more southerly Caribbean islands.

The trade winds keep conditions comfortable even at the height of summer.

The dry season from November through May is peak season, with the most settled weather and the clearest water.

The wet season from June through October brings occasional heavy showers, mostly short-lived, and the higher hurricane risk typical of the region from August through October.

  • Turks and Caicos getting there

From the US, Providenciales International Airport receives direct flights from New York, Miami, Boston, Atlanta, Charlotte and other major cities on American, Delta, JetBlue and United. Flight times are around three hours from the East Coast, making Turks and Caicos one of the most accessible luxury Caribbean destinations from the US mainland.

Direct services from several East Coast cities make it genuinely viable as a long weekend destination as well as a full week.

From the UK, British Airways operates a direct service from London Gatwick to Providenciales, with a flight time of around nine hours.

Do Not Disturb coordinates transfers from the airport to your resort and any inter-island connections to Parrot Cay, Salt Cay or other outer islands as part of the full itinerary.
