Decades of experience
Over 35 years shaping bespoke journeys for discerning travellers.
Fiji spreads itself across more than three hundred islands, and no single trip covers all of it, nor should it try to. Lagoons give way to volcanic ridgelines within an hour’s boat ride; rainforest waterfalls sit a short flight from reef systems considered among the richest anywhere on Earth.
At Do Not Disturb, we match you with one of our dedicated Fiji luxury travel experts who designs a tailor-made itinerary around how you want your time away to feel. With deep destination knowledge and meticulous planning behind the scenes, we transform complex travel into something effortless and entirely your own.
The world without distraction.
Request a quoteWhat sets Fiji apart is how much variety survives inside so small a footprint: the postcard lagoons and resort culture of the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands to the west, and Taveuni’s rainforest and waterfalls a short flight to the east, closer in feel to a different country than a different region. Underneath it runs a village culture that hasn’t been staged for visitors; kava is shared because it’s customary, not because a resort schedule calls for it. Castaway was filmed on one of these islands, and a few days spent out past the Mamanucas makes that feel less like trivia and more like an explanation.

Every itinerary is a starting point. Your expert reshapes the places, hotels and pace around you.

Take a Private Sevusevu at a Fijian Village
Sevusevu is the proper way to enter a Fijian village, presenting kava root to the chief before anything else happens. A private ceremony unfolds at its own pace, followed by a shared kava bowl, conversation, and often a meal, a genuine welcome rather than a scheduled stop.
A Private Morning at Savusavu Hot Springs
Savusavu's hot springs are not a spa treatment. They are a working part of town, still used by locals to cook and bathe. A private morning here means time with a guide who knows every pool, followed by a walk through the market where the day continues around you.
Dive Rainbow Reef, Taveuni’s Soft Coral Wall
Rainbow Reef's Great White Wall is timed entirely to the tide, since the current is what feeds its colour. A private dive charter means the schedule bends around that window instead of a fixed departure, with more room and attention for a drift dive that rewards good timing.
Travel guide

Fiji is built around two main islands and hundreds of smaller ones. Viti Levu is the largest, home to the capital Suva and the international gateway at Nadi, along with the Coral Coast’s resort strip on its southern shore.
Vanua Levu, the second-largest island, sits to the northeast and remains far less developed, its town of Savusavu increasingly known as a quieter alternative to the western resort corridor.
West of Viti Levu, the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands form the country’s most visited chain, a scatter of small islands and reefs reachable by boat or seaplane from Nadi, known for lagoons, snorkelling, and a concentration of the country’s private island resorts.
To the northeast, Taveuni, known across Fiji as the Garden Island, offers a different register entirely: dense rainforest, waterfalls, and some of the country’s best diving in the Somosomo Strait. Further south, Beqa Island and its lagoon are the centre of Fiji’s serious shark-diving scene.
Moving between regions is straightforward but not instant: domestic flights, catamarans, and seaplanes connect the main hubs, and a trip combining more than one region should build in a half-day or so for each transfer.
Fiji ranks among the world’s premier diving destinations. Rainbow Reef in the Somosomo Strait off Taveuni is celebrated for its soft coral; Beqa Lagoon offers one of the Pacific’s most reliable bull shark dives; and Namena Marine Reserve, further from the main resort corridor, rewards the effort of reaching it.
Beyond diving, Fiji’s lagoons suit paddleboarding, sailing, and surfing, Cloudbreak and the reef breaks around Tavarua and Namotu are internationally known among serious surfers.
A sevusevu ceremony, presenting kava root to a village chief, is the traditional and correct way to enter a community as a guest. Village visits arranged properly, rather than as a staged show, offer genuine conversation, shared meals, and traditional weaving or cooking.
Bouma National Heritage Park on Taveuni links three waterfalls by rainforest trail. Colo-i-Suva Forest Park, closer to the capital, offers a quieter, more accessible rainforest walk with natural swimming pools.
Savusavu sits on a sheltered bay on Fiji’s second-largest island and has developed a reputation as a quieter, less-touristed alternative to the Mamanucas, popular with sailors and increasingly with travellers looking for something further off the standard route.
Fiji’s former colonial capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Levuka’s weatherboard shopfronts and quiet harbour front offer a genuinely different Fiji from the resort islands, a place of real history rather than staged heritage.
South of Viti Levu, Kadavu remains one of Fiji’s least-developed islands, its Great Astrolabe Reef among the country’s most pristine and least-dived.
Fiji's dry season, May to October, brings the clearest days and calmest conditions for diving, sailing between islands and walking. November to April is warmer and more humid, with short tropical downpours, quieter resorts and a cyclone risk that peaks from January to March.
Cooler, less humid, and the most popular period for travel. Days are warm and reliably clear, making this the best window for diving, hiking, and island-hopping.
Warmer and more humid, with the bulk of the country’s rainfall and a real cyclone risk concentrated between January and March. Rain tends to arrive in short, heavy bursts rather than settling in for the day, and this period sees fewer visitors and better resort availability.
International flights arrive at Nadi International Airport, with direct connections from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sydney, Auckland, and other regional hubs. Suva has a smaller international airport with more limited connections.
From Nadi, most outer-island transfers run by boat or seaplane, the Yasawa Flyer catamaran services the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands, while smaller resorts arrange private boat or seaplane transfers directly.
Reaching Taveuni typically means a domestic flight from Nadi or Suva, often with a connection, and travellers should build a buffer day into any itinerary that combines Taveuni with the western islands given the more limited flight schedule.
