This itinerary is built around a simple idea: travel less, experience more. By limiting internal transfers and extending stays in each location, the journey reduces unnecessary movement while allowing a deeper connection to each place.

At a glance...

Fiji is not one place. It is 330 islands, each with its own character, its own reef, its own reason to stay longer.

This itinerary is designed to move lightly through the islands, balancing time in the Fijian highlands with an extended stay in the Yasawas. The focus is not on seeing everything, but on spending time where it matters, with experiences shaped by local guides, slower travel, and a deliberate approach to how you get around.

It is Fiji, done properly.

Why Fiji Without the Footprint

In detail

  • Days 1–2: Arrival and the Fijian Highlands

Days 1–2: Arrival and the Fijian Highlands

Arrive into Nadi and transfer inland, away from the coastline and into the highlands where Fiji feels quieter and more rooted in daily life.

Time here is shaped around local guides, with visits to nearby villages and time spent understanding the traditions that still define much of island life. The experience is informal and personal, with space to take things at your own pace rather than follow a fixed schedule.

The setting is deliberately simple compared to the islands that follow, creating a contrast that makes the rest of the journey land properly.

  • Day 3: Coastline and Local Encounters

Day 3: Coastline and Local Encounters

Return towards the coast with a slower day built around smaller, more considered experiences.

This might include time with a local producer, a walk through coastal landscapes, or simply a chance to pause before moving on. Rather than filling the day, the focus is on keeping it open, allowing the destination to dictate the pace.

  • Day 4: Journey to the Yasawas

Day 4: Journey to the Yasawas

Continue north to the Yasawa Islands with a single onward transfer.

Where possible, this is arranged using lower-impact transport options, trading speed for a more considered journey through the islands. The route itself becomes part of the experience, with time to take in the changing landscape as you move further from the mainland.

Arrival is unhurried, with the remainder of the day left open to settle in.

  • Days 5–9: Yasawa Islands Stay

    Days 5–9: Yasawa Islands Stay

The majority of the trip is spent here, removing the need for constant movement and allowing time to properly settle into the island.

Days are intentionally unstructured. Time can be spent on the water, exploring reefs and beaches, or simply staying still. For those who want to engage more closely, there are opportunities to join low-impact activities such as reef conservation work or guided walks with local staff.

  • Day 10: Departure

    Day 10: Departure

Return to Nadi for departure, with timings arranged to keep the journey smooth and direct.

  • Travelling Fiji, More Thoughtfully

    Travelling Fiji, More Thoughtfully

Fiji is often sold as an island-hopping destination, but the reality is that constant movement between islands quickly adds up, both in time and in impact.

The most rewarding trips tend to do the opposite. Staying longer in one or two places allows the destination to open up properly, with a natural rhythm that short stays rarely deliver.

Where possible, this itinerary leans into that approach. It prioritises time over distance, keeps transfers to a minimum, and focuses on places where being there for longer actually changes the experience.

It is a quieter way to travel, but ultimately a more memorable one.

St Barths 3 min read

Although firmly Caribbean, St. Barts feels distinctly French. You’ll notice it in the bakeries, the restaurants, the wine lists and the attention to detail found throughout the island. It is this combination of French culture and Caribbean scenery that has helped establish St. Barts as one of the world’s most sought-after honeymoon destinations.
