Shandrani Beachcomber Resort and Spa occupies a private peninsula in Blue Bay on the south-east coast of Mauritius, surrounded by 70 acres of tropical gardens and bordered by three beaches within the Blue Bay Marine Park. A four-month renovation completed in October 2025 introduced redesigned rooms and a new adults-only wing, Shandrani for Two.

The resort reopened in October 2025 following a four-month renovation that introduced redesigned rooms, new room categories, and an adults-only wing called Shandrani for Two. The south-east position places the resort approximately 15 minutes by road from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, the most direct transfer of any resort on the island.

The Blue Bay Marine Park is a protected lagoon holding one of the richest coral reef systems in Mauritius, with sea turtles, reef sharks, and over 50 species of coral within its boundaries. The resort’s three beaches each face a different direction, from the sheltered lagoon beach suited to water sports to the wilder southern beach alongside the pitch and putt golf course.

Food and Drink

Le Grand Port, the main buffet restaurant, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with lagoon views and a Creole-influenced international menu. Ponte Vecchio serves classic Italian dishes overlooking the lagoon, and Teak Elephant covers Thai and Oriental dishes for dinner. Le Sirius serves grilled seafood on the beach, Natura focuses on fresh, organic cuisine, and Serendipity and Purple for Two serve the adults-only wing.
Spa and Wellness

The Beachcomber Spa offers massages, facials, and body treatments using natural products in a dedicated spa facility. Two swimming pools stand within the resort grounds, each with its own poolside bar, alongside six floodlit tennis courts and a nine-hole pitch and putt golf course landscaped into the tropical gardens.
Activities

A full programme of complimentary water sports including water-skiing, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, and snorkelling is available in the Blue Bay Marine Park. The Beachcomber Sport and Nature ecotourism programme offers mountain biking, trekking, canyoning, and guided nature walks, and a kids club runs daily programmes for children aged three to eleven.

Tropical Rooms

Covering 50 square meters in a split-level layout, with the bathroom on a raised platform and the bedroom and sitting area below, accommodating up to three guests. Upper floor rooms are bathed in natural light with light wood furniture and a shaded balcony, while ground floor rooms have a shaded terrace with garden views.

Covering 60 square meters and accommodating up to four guests, with a bedroom leading to a separate lounge area, a balcony or terrace, and light wood furniture with touches of orange and green against soft beige throughout.

Covering 110 square meters on the first floor, with a private staircase providing direct beach access and a king-size bed overlooking a balcony with views of the beach and lagoon. Red and purple accents run through the interiors alongside parquet flooring, suited to couples and honeymooners.

Available on the ground floor, covering 75 square meters with two separate bedrooms and bathrooms for parents and children, and a private terrace, accommodating up to five guests. A Deluxe version offers the same layout in a more complete finish.
