Most Norway honeymoons pick one thing to focus on: the fjords, the Arctic, or a city break. This one takes all three: a capital city, a stretch of true Arctic wilderness, and a private corner of the fjords, laid out over eleven nights of luxury.
Most Norway honeymoons run west, into the fjords and down the Bergen line. This one runs north instead, trading predictability for adventure: five nights of warmth and exclusivity in Oslo, three nights of pure Arctic wonder in Finnmark, and three nights of breathtaking, fjord-side luxury in the Lyngen Alps.
Along the way, private access carries the pace, a guided evening through the MUNCH Museum and the bar sixty meters above the fjord, a full day unplugged at the Nordics’ largest spa, a private floating sauna at sunset, and a four-hour tasting menu at Maaemo that will linger in the memory long after the trip ends.
Then comes the Arctic proper: a working husky farm as your base for a day driving your own dog sled team across the wilderness, a morning with a Sami reindeer herder, and nights spent chasing the aurora from your own cabin porch.
The trip closes in the Lyngen Alps, where cosy cabins with wood-burning stoves look straight out onto fjords and peaks, and the days finally slow to nothing at all.
Day 1
You land in a city built for slow, indulgent starts.
A private transfer sweeps you to The Thief on the Tjuvholmen waterfront, where the doors open onto a world of gallery-quality art, warm low light, and a rooftop bar looking straight out over the fjord.
There’s nothing to do tonight but settle in: a glass of something cold on arrival, a quiet dinner within walking distance, and the first of many nights falling asleep to the sound of water against the marina.
Day 2
The morning belongs to you, wandering the ramparts of Akershus Fortress and the harborfront promenade of Aker Brygge at whatever pace feels right, coffee in hand, no schedule to keep.
As evening settles in, a private floating sauna on the Oslo harbour becomes entirely yours: a small wooden cabin complete with a ladder into the water below, ready for when the heat of the sauna becomes too much.
The ritual is yours to enjoy, whether you’d rather watch the Opera House from across the water or discuss the adventures ahead of you.
Few honeymoon moments feel this intimate, just the two of you, the heat, and the harbour going dark around you.
Day 3
A private guide leads you through the towering MUNCH Museum at your own pace, with no crowds to navigate, no clock to watch, just the two of you and one of the world’s great single-artist collections opening up around you.
As the visit closes, an elevator lifts you sixty meters above the city to Tolvte and Kranen, where your table is already held: dinner with the fjord spread out below, followed by cocktails on a rooftop terrace that feels like it belongs to you alone as the city’s lights start to flicker on.
Day 4
Today the outside world disappears entirely.
A short drive brings you into the forest to The Well, where saunas, steam rooms, and pools stretch across three floors and phones stay locked away in the locker room.
You move between Japanese bathhouses, Nordic wood-fired heat, and outdoor pools set against the tree line, wrapped in robes, meals taken without a single interruption.
It’s the kind of day that resets you, easing you into the days ahead.
Day 5
A slow, unhurried day, maybe a longer wander through Vigeland Park hand in hand, gives way to the evening’s centerpiece: four hours at Maaemo, one of the most celebrated tables in the world.
Course after course arrives, built entirely from the Norwegian landscape, each one brought and explained by the chef who made it, the kind of dinner that becomes a story you’ll tell for years.
Day 6
Oslo falls away below you as a short flight carries the honeymoon into true Arctic wilderness.
Sorrisniva Arctic Wilderness Lodge, built along the banks of the Alta River with floor-to-ceiling windows framing the water and the wilderness beyond, becomes your base for the next three nights, the northern lights visible from bed on a clear night without needing to go anywhere at all.
Day 7
This is the day built for adventure.
You take the reins yourselves, driving your own team of huskies across snow-covered forest and wide-open fell country under an enormous Arctic sky, with nothing but the sound of paws on snow and your own laughter breaking the silence.
A stop for coffee over an open fire in the middle of nowhere is its own small luxury, allowing you to take in your surroundings in stillness.
Back at the lodge that evening, dinner overlooks the frozen river before the northern lights offer a second act, one more chance to stand outside together and watch the sky move.
