Your adventure begins in the jungles of Tortuguero, where early-morning boat rides reveal a world of monkeys, sloths and vibrant birdlife. In Arenal, the family can walk through treetop bridges, soak in hot springs and learn the secrets of chocolate making.
The journey ends by the sea in Nosara, a relaxed coastal haven where you can surf, explore mangroves or simply unwind together under the palm trees.
Arrive in San José, where your private driver and guide will greet you and ensure a smooth transfer to your hotel. Spend the evening exploring the nearby parks or enjoying a family dinner in one of the city’s welcoming restaurants.
This morning, journey across lush landscapes as you travel through Braulio Carrillo National Park toward the Caribbean coast. Along the way, stop for breakfast before boarding a boat that winds through the jungle canals of Tortuguero. Arrive at Tortuga Lodge and Gardens, your peaceful retreat surrounded by rainforest. In the afternoon, head out on your first wildlife safari by boat, spotting monkeys leaping through the trees and colorful toucans gliding overhead.

After breakfast, travel west to Nosara, where the jungle meets the ocean. Check in at Lagarta Lodge, an eco-luxury retreat surrounded by lush jungle and panoramic ocean views. Spend the afternoon settling in – swim in the infinity pool, explore the nearby beach or take part in a relaxing family yoga session as the sun begins to set.
It’s time to hit the waves with a private family surf lesson at Playa Guiones. Expert instructors will guide you through the basics in calm, shallow waters, making it easy and fun for all ages. Celebrate your new skills with a beach picnic and some time to play in the surf before returning to your hotel for a relaxed evening.
Today’s adventure takes you into the nearby mangroves on a peaceful electric boat safari. Glide through narrow waterways, spotting herons, crocodiles and turtles along the way. This gentle excursion offers wonderful opportunities for photography and a chance to appreciate Costa Rica’s rich biodiversity. Spend your final evening sharing stories from the trip as the sun sets over the Pacific.
