The Classic French Canada Journey

The Classic French Canada Journey

From £7,610 pp

This ten-day French Canada journey will show you the best of Quebec, from the galleries and restaurant tables of Montreal to the St. Lawrence coastline of Charlevoix and the fortress walls and cobbled lanes of Quebec City.

At a glance...

Your journey begins in Montreal, where three days barely scratch the surface of one of North America’s most distinctive cities. The cobbled lanes of Old Montreal, the terraces of the Plateau, a restaurant scene that rivals any city on the continent.

From Montreal, the journey slows as you head north into Charlevoix, a UNESCO-designated stretch of the St. Lawrence where river cliffs meet rolling farmland and the food tells the story of the land around it. Quebec City brings the finale: fortress walls, a skyline anchored by the Fairmont Château Frontenac, and an old town that feels closer to Europe than anywhere else in North America.

Why The Classic French Canada Journey

In detail

  • Montreal: Days 1 to 3

    Montreal: Days 1 to 3

Montreal rewards those who resist the urge to cover everything. Three days is enough time to find a rhythm rather than a checklist.

Start in Old Montreal, where 18th-century stone buildings cluster around the Basilica of Notre-Dame and the Old Port. Then head north into the Plateau for the neighbourhood restaurants and terraces that define how the city actually lives. The Mile End is worth a morning, Parc du Mont-Royal an afternoon, and the view from the summit puts everything in context.

The restaurant scene is one of the best in North America and the best tables require advance booking. Your Do Not Disturb specialist will handle the reservations.

  • Charlevoix - Days 4 to 5

    Charlevoix - Days 4 to 5

A private transfer north along the St. Lawrence brings you into Charlevoix, a UNESCO-designated region of rolling hills, river cliffs, and villages.

Check in to Le Manoir Richelieu overlooking the river with views that justify the journey entirely. Spend the days exploring by private car, stopping at artisan producers, local cideries, and viewpoints that don’t appear in guidebooks. The food scene here is exceptional and deeply rooted in the land around it.

  • Quebec City - Days 6 to 9

    Quebec City - Days 6 to 9

The drive into Quebec City along the St. Lawrence is one of the great arrivals in North American travel. Check in to the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, sitting above the city like something from a different century entirely.

A private guided morning through the UNESCO-listed Old Town covers the Citadelle, the Plains of Abraham, and the narrow lanes of the Upper Town. Further afield, Montmorency Falls drops higher than Niagara and sees a fraction of the visitors, while a detour to Île d’Orléans delivers wine, cider, and a lunch that makes the detour quite tempting.

  • Day 10: Departure

    Day 10: Departure

Private transfer to Jean Lesage International Airport for your return flight.
