At a glance

Uga Ulagalla sits within 58 acres of working paddy fields, orchards, and gardens in the heart of Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle, built around a 150-year-old mansion that once served as the home of the local village chieftain.

The property is operated by Uga Escapes and holds 25 villas and suites, each with a private plunge pool, spread across the grounds with views across rice paddies, lily ponds, and two ancient reservoirs.

Anuradhapura, one of Sri Lanka’s most significant UNESCO World Heritage Sites, is a short drive away, as are Sigiriya and Dambulla. Half the property’s energy comes from an on-site solar farm, and the grounds are navigated by bicycle or on-call electric golf buggy. Dining splits between the restored mansion’s Liyawela Restaurant and Kamatha, a traditional clay-floored pavilion set among the paddy fields, with private dining experiences arranged throughout the stay.

Sri Lanka’s tea country is a place where production and landscape are inseparable. From hand-plucked leaves to historic bungalows, this guide walks you through how the region looks, works and feels.

Kenya’s most compelling honeymoon itinerary moves between two entirely different worlds: the wildlife-dense plains of the Maasai Mara and the ancient coral-stone quietude of Lamu Island. Together, they form a journey that is both dramatically varied and precisely calibrated for couples seeking depth over spectacle.

While the Masai Mara dominates Kenya’s safari conversation, Laikipia Plateau has quietly assembled one of Africa’s most compelling luxury wildlife destinations across its network of private conservancies. Here, exclusivity is structural rather than marketed; it takes the form of land, access, and a conservation model that keeps the crowds out by design.

The Amalfi Coast offers no shortage of places to spend money well, but Positano and Ravello represent two fundamentally different arguments for how a luxury trip here should feel. Choosing between them is less a matter of preference and more a question of what kind of traveler you actually are.
