You’ll climb rock fortresses, watch the sun sink over still lakes, cycle through villages, and share laughter over home-cooked meals – moments that reveal the true warmth of Sri Lanka.
Days 1–2
Your family adventure begins with a warm welcome in Colombo before a private transfer whisks you to Horathapola Estate, a graceful planter’s house set amid coconut groves and paddy fields. This beautiful countryside retreat is the perfect place to unwind after your flight. Spend the afternoon exploring the estate’s gardens, swimming beneath the palms, or cycling through nearby villages as life unfolds slowly around you.
Days 3–5
Travel north to Sigiriya, at the heart of Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle. Begin with a peaceful sunset kayaking experience, gliding across water as the sky glows pink behind the jungle hills.
The following days invite exploration and adventure: climb the legendary Sigiriya Rock Fortress, complete with ancient frescoes and sweeping views, and descend into the cool shade of the Dambulla Cave Temples, their golden Buddhas carved into rock.
In the afternoon, set out on a thrilling wildlife safari, watching elephants, monkeys, and water birds move freely through the wilderness. Return each evening to your resort’s comfort, where you can enjoy family dinners under the stars
Days 6–8
Leave the ancient heartland behind and journey east to Passikudah, where shallow turquoise waters meet long stretches of golden sand. Your home here, Karpaha Sands, offers effortless barefoot luxury and family-friendly warmth.
Days are yours to shape – swim in the calm bay, cycle through fishing villages, or learn the secrets of Sri Lankan cuisine in a relaxed cooking class. Active families can join a guided hike to Kudumbimalai Rock or take to the water by kayak, while those craving rest can simply unwind beneath the palms. Evenings bring beachside dinners, glowing lanterns, and the sound of waves rolling gently onto the beach.
Days 9–10
Travel inland through lush countryside to Kandy, a city that bridges the past and present. Visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth, a revered pilgrimage site filled with incense and chanting. Stroll around Kandy Lake, then join your guide for a market walk and food tour, sampling sweet treats and aromatic street dishes – perfect for the kids.
At your elegant hotel, Jetwing Kandy Gallery, evenings are for quiet reflection. Swim, play a family game, or simply take in the lights of the city flickering across the water.
Days 11–13
Your final days unfold in the rolling hills of Rosyth Estate, a working tea and spice plantation surrounded by forest and songbirds. Take a guided walk through the estate to learn the art of tea-making, from leaf to cup. Visit local schools supported by the estate and, if possible, share a simple breakfast with students, a moment of genuine cultural connection.
Spend your last full day exactly as you wish: relax by the pool, join a family cookery class, or explore the countryside by bike. Evenings here are defined by home-cooked meals, the laughter of new friends, and the soft glow of lanterns across the valley.
Day 14
After breakfast, bid farewell to Rosyth and begin your private transfer to the airport. As you leave, you and your family will carry the memories of elephants at dusk, warm smiles, and days spent together in one of the world’s most welcoming lands.
