Kasbah Tamadot

Kasbah Tamadot

Sir Richard Branson’s Atlas Mountains retreat, forty-five minutes from Marrakech, built around a former private home with views toward Mount Toubkal.

At Do Not Disturb, we match you with one of our dedicated luxury travel experts who designs a tailor-made itinerary around how you want your time away to feel. With deep destination knowledge and meticulous planning behind the scenes, we transform complex travel into something effortless and entirely your own.

The world without distraction.

At a glance...

Kasbah Tamadot sits above the village of Asni in the foothills of the High Atlas, roughly forty-five minutes from Marrakech. Originally a private home before Branson bought it after spotting the property during a hot air balloon flight, the kasbah still carries that character throughout: antiques and artwork gathered across Morocco fill the rooms, and no two are decorated quite alike.

The property works closely with the surrounding Berber community, with staff drawn almost entirely from local villages and a direct partnership with a local foundation on training and education. Guests can choose rooms within the main kasbah, one of the signature Berber tents, or a newer three-bedroom riad with a private pool.

In detail

  • Food & Drink

    Food & Drink

Two restaurants serve Moroccan and international dishes built around locally sourced, often foraged ingredients, including a newer restaurant named for the tradition of gathering to share food and poetry. Breakfast typically includes bread baked fresh in a clay oven, and mint tea is served throughout the day as a matter of course rather than a novelty.

  • Wellbeing

    Wellbeing

The spa draws on genuine local hammam tradition, and the tea ceremony with the property’s longtime tea master, an unhurried ritual built around conversation as much as the tea itself, is one of the quieter signature experiences here. The infinity pool looks directly out over the mountains, and treatments can be arranged in-room for guests who prefer not to leave their terrace at all.

  • Activities

    Activities

Guided hikes into the High Atlas, mountain biking, and cooking lessons focused on Berber and Moroccan dishes are all available through the property. Day trips into Marrakech are easy given the short drive, and the surrounding villages offer a genuine, unstaged look at Atlas Mountain life for guests who want to go further than the property gates.

Greater Kruger is often discussed as a single destination, but it is really two different safari experiences sharing one ecosystem. Kruger National Park and the private reserves along its western boundary sit on unfenced land, so wildlife moves freely between them, yet the rules, the pace, and the feel of a stay differ considerably depending […]

Kruger rewards visitors year-round, but the experience changes considerably depending on when a traveler goes. Wildlife visibility, weather, and crowd levels all shift with the seasons, sometimes in opposite directions from each other, which makes the question of timing more complicated than a single best month.

Kruger National Park is one of Africa’s most accessible wildlife destinations and one of the most rewarding, but first-time safari travelers consistently arrive prepared for the wrong things. The wildlife guides and the packing lists cover the obvious ground; what follows is the part that usually gets left out.

Wine brought most travelers to the Cape Winelands in the first place, but three days here can hold a great deal more: private art collections, working olive groves, cycling through vineyard rows, and a slower pace than a single-day tasting circuit allows.
