Italy and France together give you ancient history and pure hedonism, clifftop romance and city sophistication, all within ten nights and without a single unnecessary travel day.
It suits those who have been to Paris or Rome before and want to do both properly this time: private access, serious restaurants, hotels that have been the best at what they do for decades. The routing is deliberate and the transitions seamless. The only decision you make is where to have dinner.

Arrive in the afternoon on a private transfer from Fiumicino. The first evening belongs to Le Jardin di Russie: dinner in that garden, cacio e pepe ravioli, a good Barolo. Ease in slowly.
Days 2-3: An early-access tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum before the crowds arrive is worth every pre-dawn alarm. The Forum reads differently at 7 am, quieter, stranger, more real.
Spend the afternoon loose around Campo de’ Fiori and the Pantheon. Book La Pergola for one evening before you travel: three Michelin stars, panoramic city views from the Rome Cavalieri, and one of the great tasting menus in Italy. Reserve three to four months ahead.

Private car from Rome takes around three hours, following the A1 south before cutting onto the coast road at Sorrento. Le Sirenuse has been family-owned since 1951 and shows it, not in any dated sense, but in the kind of accumulated confidence that comes from being such an established brand.
The first evening is dinner at La Sponda, the hotel’s restaurant: 400 candles lit by hand each night, fresh pasta, sea bass, and views of the illuminated town falling to the water below. It is as good as it sounds.
Days 5-6: Charter a private boat for a full day on the water. The Grotto dello Smeraldo is worth the detour.
Lunch in Praiano, quieter and less photographed than its neighbors. Return via the cliffs above Ravello if the energy is there, or come straight back for the Aquaconcept spa and sundowners on the terrace.
One day should have no agenda at all: breakfast on the balcony, the pool, room service. The Amalfi Coast is not somewhere to optimize.
Private car to Naples Capodichino (around 90 minutes), then fly to Nice. Hotel du Cap sends a car to meet you. The drive along the Antibes headland, through pine forest to the front entrance, is the first signal that this place operates differently.
Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc accepts no credit cards on property, a quirk worth briefing clients on before they arrive. There are no room key cards either – they favor actual keys. The cliffside pool, blasted from the rock in 1914, sits above the Mediterranean at the end of a long pine-shaded walk from the main house.
Day 8: Morning in the Antibes covered market: flowers, cheese, olives, good bread. Afternoon by private yacht to Monaco for lunch, back to the hotel by evening. Dinner at the Eden-Roc restaurant overlooking the sea. Order the catch of the day.
