At a glance

Built in 1889 at the height of Aspen’s silver boom, Hotel Jerome is the town’s original high-end hotel and, more than 130 years on, is still one of its most luxurious.

The only hotel in Aspen to survive the silver crash, the Depression, and the long pre-ski winters, Jerome has accumulated a guest list that reads like a cultural history of America. Cowboys, 10th Mountain Division soldiers, Hunter S. Thompson holding court at the J-Bar. The stories are part of what guests pay for.

The modern hotel delivers serious luxury alongside that history. 93 individually designed rooms, the Michelin-recommended Prospect restaurant serving high-altitude Colourado cuisine, and the Yarrow Spa for post-mountain recovery. What makes Jerome stand apart from Aspen’s newer five-star options is that no amount of money can manufacture what it has. Voted one of the top three resorts in the US by Travel and Leisure, the property remains the benchmark.

    Food and Drink

Prospect is the main restaurant, a Michelin Guide-listed room serving inventive ingredient-led mountain cooking that moves out to the Garden courtyard in summer.

The J-Bar, an 1889 saloon, is an Aspen institution for craft cocktails and the best burger in town. The Living Room handles relaxed après drinks and small plates, while Bad Harriet, a speakeasy beneath the old Aspen Times building, pours late-night cocktails.

  • Spa and Wellness

    Spa and Wellness

The Yarrow Spa is built specifically around the demands of high-altitude mountain life. Treatments use Rocky Mountain botanicals and are designed to restore hydration and balance after days on the slopes, with each guest receiving a complimentary botanical foot soak on arrival.

A recent partnership with French skincare house Biologique Recherche adds serious credibility to the wellness offering.

  • Activities

    Activities

Aspen Snowmass gives skiers access to four separate mountains from a single base, covering everything from challenging black-diamond runs to gentler trails suited to all levels.

Hotel Jerome stands at the heart of it all, with an onsite ski concierge, complimentary shuttle to all four mountains, and a team that can arrange lift tickets before guests even arrive.

Napa still sets the benchmark for American wine travel, but it is far from the only place doing it well. Across the US, a handful of regions have built serious reputations for specific grapes, distinct climates, and style of hospitality.

Kenya’s most compelling honeymoon itinerary moves between two entirely different worlds: the wildlife-dense plains of the Maasai Mara and the ancient coral-stone quietude of Lamu Island. Together, they form a journey that is both dramatically varied and precisely calibrated for couples seeking depth over spectacle.
