Gili Lankanfushi sits on a private coral island in the North Male Atoll, 20 minutes by speedboat from Male International Airport, built entirely on stilts above one of the largest lagoons in the Maldives.

The 45 villas and residences are constructed from teak, palm, and natural materials, with open-air living spaces, rooftop terraces, and direct lagoon access throughout. The resort operates on a No News, No Shoes philosophy, with every guest assigned a personal Mr. or Ms. Friday for the duration of the stay.

A resident marine biology team, coral restoration programme, and EarthCheck Gold certification place Gili Lankanfushi among the most credentialed eco-conscious luxury properties in the Maldives. Meera Spa, a PADI dive centre, and some of the best surf reefs in the country within a five-minute boat ride complete the offer. Food and Drink

Kashiveli is the beachfront main restaurant, open for breakfast and dinner with themed evening menus drawing on Asian, Mediterranean, Indian, and Maldivian cooking from locally sourced ingredients.

By the Sea is the overwater Japanese fine-dining venue, serving sushi, sashimi, and Japanese specialties using the daily catch alongside produce from the resort’s organic garden. Fini Foni handles poolside cocktails and house-made ice cream, the Overwater Bar is the resort’s sunset spot with a 360-degree view and tapas menu, and a private underground wine cellar rounds out the offer.

Spa and Wellness

Meera Spa takes its name from the Sanskrit word for ocean, with six overwater treatment rooms featuring glass floor panels above the lagoon. The signature bamboo massage with warmed aromatic oils is among the most requested treatments, alongside the Coffee and Coconut Nourishing Body Polish.

Ayurvedic therapies, a yoga and Tai-Chi champa, steam and sauna rooms, and a panoramic ocean relaxation area complete the facility. Morning yoga and meditation classes are daily for all guests.

Activities

The house reef surrounding Lankanfushi Island gives direct snorkelling access to coral gardens, turtles, and reef fish from the villa decks. A PADI certified dive centre handles guided dives and snorkel excursions daily.

Surf reefs rated among the best in the Maldives are three to five minutes by boat, with consistent swell year-round. Kayaking, paddleboarding, windsurfing, catamaran sailing, water skiing, marine biology excursions, reef-cleaning activities, and an outdoor cinema every Monday and Thursday evening complete the offer.
