The world without distraction.

At a glance

A design-led hotel on the edge of Piteå, on the stretch of coast Swedes call the Riviera of the North. Hotel Kust holds 43 rooms and four suites across fourteen floors, shaped by the river it sits beside and the light that defines this part of Sweden.

The polished, urban counterpoint to a Lapland lodge stay. Where the lodges further north put guests directly on the ice, Kust offers a sky bar, a serious spa, and a base from which to step in and out of the Arctic. It is the tallest building in northern Sweden, and on a clear winter night, the Aurora Borealis can be watched from the bar on the fourteenth floor.

In summer, the Midnight Sun keeps the coastline lit for almost the whole day. In winter, Piteå sits under one of the best skies in Europe for the Northern Lights, and the surrounding archipelago freezes hard enough to walk on.

In detail

  • Food and Drink

    Food and Drink

Two venues, one above the other. Restaurant Tage on the ground floor serves seasonal cooking built around local and international producers, with a wine list to match.

Bar Tage sits on floor fourteen, with the best view in Piteå and a short list of aperitifs and cocktails. The sky bar is the property’s signature.

  • Spa and Wellness

    Spa and Wellness

Kust Spa operates on the Nordic cycle of hot and cold: saunas, ice baths, terrace pools, and a quiet lounge between treatments.

The route from the sauna into a glass of champagne in the spa lounge is the property’s signature, and worth building an afternoon around.

  • Why Hotel Kust

    Why Hotel Kust

Hotel Kust suits travellers who want Lapland with comfort. The right base for guests who would rather sleep in a properly designed hotel than a cabin, and still wake up close to the ice.

It pairs well with Brändön Lodge for a contrast of polished and remote, or with Treehotel further inland for a more design-driven Lapland itinerary.
