Opoa Beach Hotel sits in the south of Raiatea, between the lagoon and tropical vegetation 210 kilometres northwest of Tahiti. Raiatea Airport is forty minutes by road; the hotel arranges transfers directly.

The Marae of Taputapuatea sits five minutes away. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most significant sacred sites in the Pacific, drawing visitors from across the Polynesian Triangle for its ancestral and ceremonial importance. The hotel’s position makes it the obvious base for visiting the marae.

The property works to a strong sustainability brief, with a Green Key eco-label commitment across energy, waste, and responsible purchasing. Spa by Opoa runs treatments in an open massage faré at the edge of the lagoon, and car, scooter, electric bike, and jet ski rentals are all available on-site for exploring the rest of the island.

The spa is open to outside visitors by appointment alongside hotel guests, making it one of the few wellness spaces on Raiatea accessible to non-residents.
