The island is well suited to travellers seeking balance. Time at the beach is easily paired with gentle exploration, from markets and colonial sites to marine parks and forested hills.
Best known for its long stretches of pale sand and warm Indian Ocean waters, it is equally defined by its interior of sugarcane fields, botanical gardens and small villages where daily life unfolds at an unhurried pace.
Set along one of the island’s most peaceful beaches, Belle Mare offers a soft introduction to Mauritius. The shoreline here is wide and palm-lined, with calm, clear water and a sense of space that encourages rest from the moment you arrive.
Your days are intentionally light. Mornings might begin with a swim in the lagoon or a walk along the sand, followed by unstructured time by the pool or at the spa. The surrounding area remains quiet and local, with little to distract from the rhythm of the coast.
