At a glance

Yasawa Island Resort & Spa sits in one of Fiji‘s most remote archipelagos, with 18 thatched beachfront bures and 11 private beaches across the property. The setting puts guests well off the standard Fiji circuit, with much of the appeal coming from the seclusion itself.

Each bure is steps from the ocean, with generous indoor-outdoor living space, private decks, and panoramic views of the South Pacific. Categories range from the entry Bure Suite through to the secluded Lomalagi Bure with its own private lap pool.

Stays are all-inclusive, with daily-changing menus drawing on locally caught seafood and tropical produce at Yasawa Restaurant, an al fresco beachfront room. The Baravi Spa stands feet from the water, billed as Fiji’s first beachfront wellness center. A PADI dive center, manta ray encounters from May to October, kayaks, paddleboards, and sport fishing cover the water. Boat excursions reach the Sawa-i-Lau caves.

In detail

  • Food and Drink

    Food and Drink

Yasawa is all-inclusive, with the executive chef’s daily menus built on locally caught seafood and island produce. Yasawa Restaurant is the main table, an al fresco, beachfront room serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a long wine list.

Manasa’s Bar handles poolside cocktails. The kitchen also sends guests off by boat for private picnics on a deserted beach or sets a table under the stars on the sand.

  • Spa and Wellness

    Spa and Wellness

Baravi Spa stands feet from the water, billed as Fiji’s first beachfront wellness center, with a massage deck looking straight out to sea. The menu covers massages, facials, body scrubs and wraps, and manicures.

Treatments can also be taken in a beach cabana. Away from the spa, there is a pool and a tennis court, though the kilometre-long house beach tends to do most of the unwinding.

  • Activities

    Activities

Everything is included, motorized and not. A living coral reef fronts the resort for snorkelling straight off the beach, and the PADI dive centre operates trips and certifications, with manta rays in the channels from May to October.

Kayaks, paddleboards, catamarans, and sport fishing cover the rest of the water. Boat excursions reach the Sawa-i-Lau caves, and a visit to the village of Bukama opens up Fijian ceremony and song.

Fiji doesn’t run on four seasons the way many trip-planning guides assume. It runs on two, and knowing the difference matters more here than in most destinations; the season you choose shapes everything from dive visibility to which parts of the country are easiest to reach. Here’s how to make sure you will make the […]

Most first-time Fiji itineraries stay within the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands, and it’s easy to see why: they’re the most accessible part of the country, a short boat or seaplane ride from Nadi, and they deliver on exactly what most people picture when they imagine Fiji: white sand, calm lagoons, and a resort built almost […]

A genuine village visit in Fiji looks nothing like the cultural shows staged nightly at many resorts, and understanding the difference matters both for the experience itself and for the community on the other side of it.

Fiji‘s Rainbow Reef sits in the Somosomo Strait, the channel of water separating Taveuni from Vanua Levu, and it’s routinely named among the finest soft coral diving anywhere on Earth. The reason has less to do with the coral’s rarity than with what feeds it: strong tidal currents move through the strait twice daily, carrying […]
