Wilderness Mombo Camp

Dining at Mombo operates without set hours. Meals are built around the rhythm of the day rather than a fixed schedule, with breakfast served before the morning drive, a bush brunch in the field on return, and dinner either in the open-air dining room, on the boma under the stars, or on the private deck of the suite on request. The menus change seasonally and draw on the best available produce.

A minibar in each suite is stocked with soft drinks and low-alcohol options, and staff are available via two-way radio at any point during the day. A wine cellar is available for guests with a specific interest in the list. Sundowners in the field, at one of the camp’s two photographic hides, or on the central viewing deck with the fire pit are a standard part of the daily rhythm.

Mombo Camp stands on the northwestern tip of Chief’s Island, the largest landmass in the Okavango Delta, within the Moremi Game Reserve.

The island is unfenced and holds all of the Big Five, including both black and white rhino reintroduced through the Botswana Rhino Reintroduction Project. Access is by light aircraft only, with regular charter flights from Maun connecting to the Mombo airstrip. The airstrip is a 15-minute game drive transfer from camp, with onward connections to other Wilderness properties across the Delta and the Linyanti.
