At a glance

The Marquesa Hotel is a boutique hotel across restored historic buildings in Old Town Key West, a block off Duval Street.

An Old Town institution, built across four restored buildings that include an 1884 conch house, a block from Duval but quiet behind its gardens. An adults-led property of individually decorated rooms and suites, with antique furniture, ceiling fans, and a spare, colonial feel.

The grounds hold three pools and lush courtyard gardens, with rooms looking onto them from gingerbread porches and balconies. Café Marquesa, the hotel’s own restaurant, is regularly rated one of the best tables in Key West, and the hotel earned a Michelin Two-Key rating in 2024. No children under 14. Duval Street is a block away, and the whole of Old Town is on foot.

In detail

  • Food and Drink

    Food and Drink

Café Marquesa is the heart of the hotel, an intimate restaurant that locals and guests rate among the best in Key West, holding an OpenTable Diners’ Choice award.

The kitchen, under Chef Travis Lee, covers gourmet coastal Southern cooking with local seafood and produce, served à la carte or as a seven-course tasting menu. Mornings bring a strong breakfast, beignets included, and there is a Southern happy hour. Book dinner well ahead.

  • Spa and Wellness

    Spa and Wellness

The Marquesa is a small historic hotel rather than a spa property, so there is no spa or gym on site.

What it holds instead is three pools, one heated, across tropical courtyard gardens, with loungers and quiet corners to read in. Treatments and classes can be arranged nearby, and the beaches and water sports of Key West are a short walk or ride away. Mostly, the wellness here is shade, water, and stillness a block from the noise.

  • Location

    Location

The Marquesa is on Fleming Street, one block off Duval, in the centre of Old Town Key West, which means the whole historic island is on foot.

Duval’s bars and restaurants are around the corner, with the Hemingway Home, Mallory Square’s sunset celebration, and the Southernmost Point all a short walk away. The beaches at Fort Zachary Taylor are nearby, and Key West International Airport is about ten minutes by car.

Napa still sets the benchmark for American wine travel, but it is far from the only place doing it well. Across the US, a handful of regions have built serious reputations for specific grapes, distinct climates, and style of hospitality.

Kenya’s most compelling honeymoon itinerary moves between two entirely different worlds: the wildlife-dense plains of the Maasai Mara and the ancient coral-stone quietude of Lamu Island. Together, they form a journey that is both dramatically varied and precisely calibrated for couples seeking depth over spectacle.
