Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba operates less like a hotel and more like a private estate that happens to take guests. Set on working farmland in the Sacred Valley, its rooms and casitas are spread across gardens and cultivated fields rather than arranged in a single block, and the valley’s terraced mountainsides are visible from most rooms without the property needing to frame the view.
At a lower altitude than Cusco, the hacienda works well as a place to acclimatize before or after time spent higher in the Andes. The estate keeps its own vegetable gardens and orchards, most of which supply the kitchen directly, and horseback rides through the surrounding farmland are arranged through the property itself.
The pace here is deliberately unhurried, suited to a two- or three-night stay rather than a single overnight on the way to somewhere else.

Horseback rides through the surrounding farmland are arranged directly through the property, along with guided walks to nearby Inca sites, including Moray and the salt pans at Maras. Weaving demonstrations with local artisans can also be arranged on request.
Independent casitas and Superior Deluxe rooms spread across the estate, most with a private terrace and panoramic views over the surrounding mountains and cultivated fields, several with their own fireplace.
Junior Suites, Suites, and two Owners Quarters configurations, the largest a duplex accommodating up to six guests with its own private living room, all set to make the most of the valley’s panoramic views.
