Brändön Lodge

Brändön Lodge

A family-run 15-cabin lodge on the Bay of Bothnia, 35 minutes from Luleå in Swedish Lapland, with dog sledding and snowmobile excursions from the door and Northern Lights reflected on the frozen sea.

At Do Not Disturb, we match you with one of our dedicated luxury travel experts who designs a tailor-made itinerary around how you want your time away to feel. With deep destination knowledge and meticulous planning behind the scenes, we transform complex travel into something effortless and entirely your own.

The world without distraction.

At a glance

Fifteen cabins on the edge of the Bay of Bothnia, thirty-five minutes from Luleå, run by two cousins who grew up on this coastline. Brändön sits where the Arctic Circle meets the sea, and the location does most of the work.

In winter, the bay freezes for miles in every direction. Guests step from the cabin onto a white plain that becomes the route for dog sledding, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and long walks under skies that hold the Northern Lights for hours at a time. There is almost no light pollution here, and when the Aurora appears, it can be seen reflected on the frozen sea.

In summer, the ice gives way to an archipelago of small islands, twenty-three hours of daylight, and water still enough to kayak through at midnight. The same coastline becomes a place to swim, fish, cycle, and disappear into. Small, family-built, and built around the landscape rather than on top of it.

Brändön Lodge

In detail

  • Food and Drink

    Food and Drink

A single restaurant in the main lodge, three meals a day. The kitchen draws on the surrounding landscape: smoked reindeer, freshly baked crispbread, Arctic char, lingonberry, cloudberry.

Dietary requirements are accommodated. Summer bookings should be made in advance.

  • Activities

    Activities

In winter, the lodge operates a slow rotation of Arctic activity: dog sledding through forest trails, snowmobiling across the frozen archipelago, hovercraft expeditions over pack ice, and a Nordic Winter Skills day with local guides. The Aurora Hideaway Dinner, a private cabin overlooking the ice with a meal prepared on an open grill, is the most requested experience.

In summer, the pace changes. Long daylight, kayaking, sea fishing, island-hopping, and coastal cycling. The Reindeer Safari and the Arctic yurt glamping option are worth building a stay around.

  • Why Brändön Lodge

    Why Brändön Lodge

Brändön suits travellers who want the Arctic without a corporate resort. Family-run, genuinely remote, and built by people who understand the landscape.

It pairs well with Treehotel or Icehotel for a longer Lapland itinerary, or works as a quieter anchor at either end of a more ambitious Nordic trip.
