In detail

Turin

Days 1–3

Turin

You arrive in Milan and are met airside before transferring privately to Turin, approximately two hours away. A welcome briefing ensures every detail is clear before you settle into your centrally located hotel.

Your first evening introduces its more enigmatic side with a private walking tour through the historic center. Architecture and symbolism intertwine. Stories of secret societies and centuries-old legend surface as dusk settles over the city.

The following day focuses on Turin’s architectural and culinary identity. Piazza Castello anchors the experience, framed by the Royal Palace and Palazzo Madama.

Time at leisure allows for deeper exploration. The Egyptian Museum, the Mole Antonelliana, or simply café culture beneath the arcades.

A reservation at Ristorante Del Cambio introduces refined Piedmontese dining in one of Italy’s most historic dining rooms. The setting is grand, the cuisine precise, the wine list serious.

Your final morning in Turin centers on ritual. A bicerin at Caffè Al Bicerin, layered with espresso, chocolate, and cream. A walk through Porta Palazzo market, where daily life unfolds without performance. In the afternoon, a private visit to Casa Martini explores vermouth’s origins and the foundations of Italian aperitivo culture.

Into the Langhe

Day 4

Into the Langhe

A private transfer carries you south into Piedmont’s vineyard landscape.

The route passes through Barbaresco, where medieval towers rise above neat rows of Nebbiolo vines. A private winery visit introduces the structure and restraint of Barbaresco wines, followed by a guided tasting.

In Alba, known for its truffle heritage, you pause for lunch at leisure before continuing deeper into Barolo territory. Rolling hills, small stone villages, and cellar visits define the afternoon.

By late day you arrive in the Langhe countryside, where your hotel sits among vineyard-lined slopes.

The Langhe

Days 5–6

The Langhe

A private truffle hunt introduces one of Piedmont’s most prized ingredients. You join a local trifulau and his trained dog in woodland and vineyard edges, learning how season, soil, and scent determine success.

The experience concludes as it should, at the table. Freshly shaved truffle over simple regional dishes, paired with structured local reds.

The following day is intentionally unhurried. Vineyard walks, time by the pool, or simply coffee overlooking the hills. The spa offers understated wellness rooted in calm rather than spectacle.

Dinner reservations at the hotel’s signature restaurant allow you to experience modern interpretations of Piedmontese cuisine.

Bologna

Day 7

Bologna

A private transfer takes you south to Bologna, approximately three and a half hours by road.

Your introduction to the city comes through a privately guided gourmet walk. Medieval markets and covered arcades frame tastings of handmade pasta, aged Parmigiano Reggiano, regional salumi, and local wines. The experience is curated, not hurried.

You settle into one of Bologna’s most historic hotels in the heart of the city.

Emilia-Romagna

Day 8

Emilia-Romagna

Today is dedicated to craft.

A private driver escorts you into the surrounding countryside to visit a traditional Parmigiano Reggiano dairy. You observe production and walk through aging rooms lined floor to ceiling with maturing wheels.

In Modena, a historic acetaia introduces Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena. Barrels of oak, chestnut, and juniper age liquid patiently for decades. A guided tasting reveals how time shapes texture and depth.

The afternoon concludes at a family-run prosciutto producer, where curing rooms and sea air combine to create Parma’s distinctive sweetness.

Bologna

Day 9

Bologna

With time at leisure, you explore Bologna at your own pace. The Archiginnasio and Teatro Anatomico reveal the city’s academic legacy. Piazza Santo Stefano offers quiet architectural contrast.

As evening approaches, the Quadrilatero market district shifts from commerce to social ritual. Enjoy aperitivo, informal bites, and conversations beneath porticoes.

A reservation at Michelin-starred Ristorante I Portici showcases the very best of Emilia-Romagna’s culinary heritage. Technique is modern. Ingredients remain regional.

Departure

Day 10

Departure

A private transfer brings you to Bologna Airport for your onward journey.

You leave having experienced northern Italy through its defining flavors. Not as isolated tastings, but as landscapes, traditions, and communities woven together.
