The world without distraction.

At a glance

Rock Villa is a 170-year-old Walauwa, a Sri Lankan ancestral heritage house, set within 2.5 acres of tropical gardens and mangroves on a stretch of coastline in Bentota, part of the Nyne Hotels collection.

The building was formerly the holiday home of interior designer Nayantaru Fonseka, and her influence carries through the property in the mix of traditional and contemporary furnishings, Sri Lankan artworks, and considered detail throughout.

The beach is a short walk through the gardens and mangroves beyond the property’s boundary, with the 50-foot pool at the centre of the grounds. The coastline here is quiet enough to attract nesting turtles and a range of birdlife, with Brief Garden and Lunuganga, both designed by the Bawa brothers, a short drive away. The whole villa can be booked exclusively for groups of up to 16 guests, or rooms can be taken individually.

The kitchen at Rock Villa draws on fresh local produce, with a menu that covers more ground than most small hotels in the area. Breakfast extends from a full à la carte spread to continental, with a children’s menu available.

Evenings move to a set dinner menu prepared by the in-house chef, drawing on Sri Lankan and international dishes. Meals can be taken in the dining room, the al fresco dining pavilion, or under the stars in the garden. An informal barbecue is available on request.

  • Spa and Wellness

Sri Lanka’s tea country is a place where production and landscape are inseparable. From hand-plucked leaves to historic bungalows, this guide walks you through how the region looks, works and feels.

Kenya’s most compelling honeymoon itinerary moves between two entirely different worlds: the wildlife-dense plains of the Maasai Mara and the ancient coral-stone quietude of Lamu Island. Together, they form a journey that is both dramatically varied and precisely calibrated for couples seeking depth over spectacle.

While the Masai Mara dominates Kenya’s safari conversation, Laikipia Plateau has quietly assembled one of Africa’s most compelling luxury wildlife destinations across its network of private conservancies. Here, exclusivity is structural rather than marketed; it takes the form of land, access, and a conservation model that keeps the crowds out by design.

The Amalfi Coast offers no shortage of places to spend money well, but Positano and Ravello represent two fundamentally different arguments for how a luxury trip here should feel. Choosing between them is less a matter of preference and more a question of what kind of traveler you actually are.
