At a glance

98 Acres Resort and Spa sits on the former Southerland Tea Estate in Ella, a working tea plantation of 98 acres with views across Little Adam’s Peak and the Ella Gap.

The resort holds over 46 chalets built largely from recycled materials, including discarded railway sleepers, illuk straw thatching, and rough-hewn granite, with the construction sitting low within the landscape.

Little Adam’s Peak and the Nine Arch Bridge are both a 15-minute walk from the property, with the Demodara Railway Loop around 10 minutes away by car. The property covers a full-service spa, a gym, a pool bar, a hilltop restaurant, and a helipad for guests arriving by air. Chalets extend from Standard up to the two-bedroom Grand Executive Suite with a private heated plunge pool overlooking the tea plantation, suited to families or guests wanting the most generous footprint.

Sri Lanka’s tea country is a place where production and landscape are inseparable. From hand-plucked leaves to historic bungalows, this guide walks you through how the region looks, works and feels.

Kenya’s most compelling honeymoon itinerary moves between two entirely different worlds: the wildlife-dense plains of the Maasai Mara and the ancient coral-stone quietude of Lamu Island. Together, they form a journey that is both dramatically varied and precisely calibrated for couples seeking depth over spectacle.

While the Masai Mara dominates Kenya’s safari conversation, Laikipia Plateau has quietly assembled one of Africa’s most compelling luxury wildlife destinations across its network of private conservancies. Here, exclusivity is structural rather than marketed; it takes the form of land, access, and a conservation model that keeps the crowds out by design.

The Amalfi Coast offers no shortage of places to spend money well, but Positano and Ravello represent two fundamentally different arguments for how a luxury trip here should feel. Choosing between them is less a matter of preference and more a question of what kind of traveler you actually are.
