Treehotel

Treehotel

A design-led hotel in northern Sweden with architect-designed treetop cabins suspended in a pine forest near Harads, 90 minutes north of Luleå and well-placed for Northern Lights and the surrounding nature reserves.

At Do Not Disturb, we match you with one of our dedicated luxury travel experts who designs a tailor-made itinerary around how you want your time away to feel. With deep destination knowledge and meticulous planning behind the scenes, we transform complex travel into something effortless and entirely your own.

The world without distraction.

At a glance

Treehotel sits in a pine forest outside the village of Harads in northern Sweden, 90 minutes north of Luleå, with a series of architect-designed cabins suspended in the treetops above the surrounding wilderness.

Each cabin is a standalone architectural project, designed by a different Scandinavian architect and built to its own specification: the Bird’s Nest, the UFO, the Mirrorcube, the Cabin, and the 7th Room, among others. Cabins range from compact two-person retreats to the 75 sqm 7th Room.

Storforsen Nature Reserve, home to Northern Europe’s largest rapids, is within reach for guided day trips, with snowmobile tours running through the winter landscape under the Northern Lights. Dining is handled at Britta’s Pensionat, a guesthouse in nearby Harads serving locally sourced Swedish cooking.

  • Food and Drink

    Food and Drink

Dining is handled at Britta’s Pensionat, a guesthouse in the nearby village of Harads serving locally sourced Swedish cooking across breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The menu draws on regional Lapland traditions, with game, fish, and forest ingredients carrying through. Treehotel guests dine at Britta’s as part of the stay.

  • Activities

    Activities

Storforsen Nature Reserve, home to Northern Europe’s largest rapids, is one of the headline excursions. The water does not freeze even in extremely cold conditions, and the drive through the surrounding forest gives a strong chance of spotting reindeer.

Northern Lights snowmobile tours run through the winter, taking guests deep into the landscape for the aurora when conditions allow.

  • Getting There

    Getting There

The most direct route is a flight from Stockholm to Luleå, then a 90-minute drive north to Harads. A stopover in Stockholm before the onward flight north works well for guests wanting to combine the trip with the capital.

Treehotel cabins are individually designed and limited in number, so booking early is essential to secure the cabin of choice, especially through the winter Northern Lights season.
