Day 1
Arrive in Tokyo, where a private assistant and driver will meet you for a seamless transfer into the city. Spend your first evening settling in – perhaps explore nearby restaurants, take a stroll through illuminated streets, or relax and adjust to the gentle rhythm of Japan.
Day 2
Explore the balance of old and new that defines Japan’s capital. With your private guide, begin at Asakusa, home to Tokyo’s oldest temple, Senso-ji, and the lively Nakamise shopping street. Continue to the peaceful Meiji Shrine, a forested sanctuary dedicated to Emperor Meiji, before ending your day on Omotesando Avenue, known for its striking architecture and elegant boutiques.
Day 3
Discover Tokyo’s contemporary spirit as you explore the vibrant neighbourhoods of Shibuya, Harajuku and Akihabara. Cross the famous Shibuya intersection, browse Harajuku’s inventive fashion stores and cafés, and explore Akihabara’s world of anime and electronics. As evening falls, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant or a rooftop bar overlooking the skyline.
Day 4
Leave the city behind and travel into the scenic landscapes of Hakone, gateway to Mount Fuji. Ride the cable car over volcanic valleys, sample the region’s famous black eggs and take a boat across Lake Ashi beneath snow-dusted peaks.
In the evening, unwind in a traditional ryokan. Bathe in a private onsen and enjoy a multi-course kaiseki dinner; a perfect introduction to Japan’s refined hospitality and its deep connection to nature.
Day 5
Journey by train to Kyoto, Japan’s cultural heart. On arrival, take a gentle walk along the Philosopher’s Path, where cherry trees bloom beside a quiet canal lined with shrines and small teahouses. The soft pink canopy overhead captures the calm beauty of spring in Japan. Spend the evening at leisure, exploring the city’s dining scene or relaxing after your journey.
Day 6
Begin the day in Arashiyama, known for its iconic towering bamboo grove and tranquil temples. Visit Tenryu-ji, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and wander through its landscaped gardens before enjoying a traditional vegetarian lunch in peaceful surroundings.
In the evening, experience Kyoto’s refined traditions with an exclusive cultural dinner hosted by a Maiko, an apprentice Geisha. Enjoy a kaiseki meal accompanied by music and dance – an intimate experience with one of Japan’s most enduring art forms.
Day 7
Start the day at Fushimi Inari Shrine, where thousands of vermilion gates lead into the forested hills. Continue to the nearby sake district to learn about Kyoto’s brewing heritage and enjoy a guided tasting at a local brewery or café. Spend your final evening exploring the cobbled lanes of Higashiyama or relaxing with one last view of the cherry blossoms.
Day 8
Your driver will transfer you to Kansai International Airport for your onward flight. As you depart, take with you the memory of spring light on temple roofs and cherry petals floating on the breeze.
