At Do Not Disturb, we match you with one of our dedicated luxury travel experts who designs a tailor-made itinerary around how you want your time away to feel. With deep destination knowledge and meticulous planning behind the scenes, we transform complex travel into something effortless and entirely your own.

The world without distraction.

At a glance

A Two Michelin Key lodge standing almost invisibly on the floor of one of New Zealand’s most dramatic alpine valleys.

Deep in the South Island’s Ahuriri Valley, The Lindis Lodge occupies a 6,500-acre working farm in the New Zealand highlands, surrounded by tussock lands, wetlands, and the vast Ahuriri Conservation Park. The setting is extraordinary, and the lodge is built to match it. What sets The Lindis apart is the rare combination of total wilderness and Two Michelin Key hospitality, in a valley so remote it feels like New Zealand kept it for itself.

Accommodation spans two Master Suites, three Lodge Suites, and three architecturally striking Pods, all positioned to make the most of the valley’s panoramic silence. The cuisine takes a refined, contemporary approach to seasonal New Zealand cooking, built around local produce and garden harvests. Reachable by road or private helicopter, The Lindis is a place you arrive at by choice, and leave having seen New Zealand as relatively few visitors ever do.

In detail

  • Food and Drink

    Food and Drink

Cuisine at The Lindis Lodge draws heavily on the surrounding landscape, with ingredients sourced from the on-site garden, local suppliers, and sustainable catches including Tasman Bay Kingfish and Fiordland crayfish.

Each evening opens with pre-dinner drinks and canapés in the Great Hall before a multi-course dinner, with breakfast and lunch included daily. The wine list is curated by an in-house sommelier, with the bar open all day for cocktails and complimentary pre-dinner drinks.

  • Activities

    Activities

Fly-fishing on the Ahuriri River and its surrounding tributaries is the headline activity, with the valley considered one of the best trout waters in the country and the lodge’s guides among the most experienced in the South Island.

Horse trekking across the surrounding tussock lands opens up the wider working station and the Conservation Park beyond. Stargazing is exceptional under some of the Southern Hemisphere’s darkest skies, with the on-site telescope and dark-sky-trained guides making the most of clear nights. Hiking, guided nature walks, and helicopter excursions across the Southern Alps round out the program.

    Location

The Lindis Lodge stands on the floor of the Ahuriri Valley deep in New Zealand’s South Island highlands, on a 6,500-acre working farm surrounded by tussock lands, wetlands, and the vast Ahuriri Conservation Park.

The distance is the point. The Ahuriri Valley stands beyond the reach of day-trippers and passing traffic, which means the tussock grasslands, the river flats, and the Conservation Park beyond remain exactly as they should be. Access is by private vehicle or helicopter, with the lodge’s reservations team on hand to arrange transfers from Queenstown, Wanaka, or Christchurch. The nearest international airport is Queenstown, around two hours 15 minutes by road, with the final stretch a gravel road best suited to 4WD vehicles.

Travel inspiration and editorials

Auckland 8 min read

Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city and its primary international gateway, which means most travelers pass through it. The city has become genuinely interesting in recent years, with a restaurant scene that ranks internationally, galleries and museums that justify time, and neighborhoods that feel lived-in rather than designed for tourism.

Milford Sound 8 min read

Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound are the two primary fjords, and they operate on completely different scales and rhythms. Understanding the distinction between them is essential to planning properly.

Marlborough 8 min read

At Do Not Disturb, we work directly with winemakers, cellar door managers, and producers throughout New Zealand’s regions to arrange private tastings, behind-the-scenes cellar visits, and dinners that connect you with the actual people shaping the country’s wine culture.

Kenya’s most compelling honeymoon itinerary moves between two entirely different worlds: the wildlife-dense plains of the Maasai Mara and the ancient coral-stone quietude of Lamu Island. Together, they form a journey that is both dramatically varied and precisely calibrated for couples seeking depth over spectacle.
