Ten nights on Mexico’s Caribbean coast, moving from the mangrove lagoons of Mayakoba to the jungle-edged clifftops of Tulum. Ancient ruins, private cenotes, and some of the best restaurants in Latin America along the way.
Two hotels, one coastline, ten nights. You begin at Rosewood Mayakoba, widely considered the best resort on the Riviera Maya, set within a private reserve of mangroves and lagoon waterways south of Playa del Carmen. Seven nights here gives you time to settle properly rather than rush.
Mid-trip, a private day excursion takes you inland to Chichen Itza and the colonial city of Valladolid. It is a long day but one of the most memorable on the itinerary. The cenotes at Dos Ojos are a half-day trip in the other direction, freshwater cave pools that most guests at nearby resorts never bother to visit.
The final three nights are at Azulik in Tulum, a collection of clifftop villas built into the jungle above the Caribbean. The change of scene from Mayakoba is deliberate. Dinner at Sfer Ik and a sunrise visit to the Tulum ruins round out the trip before the transfer back to Cancun.
