The Maldives is made for families who want to slow down, reconnect, and share the simple joy of island life. This ten-day journey combines two of its most remarkable resorts – Soneva Fushi and Soneva Jani – each offering space, freedom, plenty of family-friendly experiences.

At a glance...

Days can be shaped around the ocean: snorkeling coral reefs, dining beneath the stars, and watching the sun set over turquoise lagoons. With every detail cared for by your Barefoot Guardian, there’s nothing to do but relax and enjoy time as a family.

At Soneva Fushi, tree-lined paths, beach villas, and playful touches like outdoor cinemas and chocolate rooms set the tone for easy adventure. Then at Soneva Jani, the experience shifts over water, where villas open onto endless lagoon views and slides curve straight into the sea.

Why The Maldives Family Adventure: Soneva Fushi & Jani

In detail

  • Days 1-5: Soneva Fushi

    Days 1-5: Soneva Fushi

Your Maldivian adventure begins at Soneva Fushi, an island that feels both playful and deeply peaceful. You’ll stay in Villa 39, a four-bedroom beachfront home designed for families who love space and privacy. The villa comes complete with its own pool, gym, and a water slide that sends you straight into the ocean – an instant hit with kids and adults alike.

Here, everything happens at an easy pace. Start the day with breakfast by the beach before joining the resort’s Marine Biologist for a snorkeling trip through the reef. In the afternoon, cycle shaded jungle trails or head to The Den, South Asia’s largest kids’ club. With two pools, a giant pirate ship, Lego and music rooms, and endless activities, it’s a paradise built just for younger guests.

Evenings are about together-time: beachside barbecues, chocolate and ice cream parlors that never seem to close, and open-air movie nights under a sky full of stars. Soneva Fushi’s “Barefoot Guardian” team quietly takes care of every detail, leaving you free to enjoy island life at its most effortless.

  • Days 6-10: Soneva Jani

    Days 6-10: Soneva Jani

A short seaplane hop brings you to Soneva Jani, a world of clear turquoise lagoons and wooden walkways stretching across the water. Your new home is a four-bedroom overwater villa, complete with a private pool, gym, and another water slide that curves down into the lagoon below. The rooms are bright and breezy, with retractable roofs for stargazing from bed.

Days here can be as active or relaxed as you wish. Explore coral gardens by snorkel, take a sunset dolphin cruise, or enjoy a private family picnic on a deserted sandbank. The island’s observatory offers stargazing sessions with resident astronomers, while the Turtle on Call experience lets you see the magic of sea turtles nesting or hatching – a moment kids will never forget.

For younger travelers, The Den at Soneva Jani is a two-story wonderland of zip lines, a sensory play area, and even a mocktail Cave Bar for teens. Parents can unwind with a spa treatment, a long lunch by the lagoon, or a quiet hour on the deck, watching the ocean change color through the day.

Evenings often end with a family dinner beneath the stars or a late swim in the villa’s pool – calm, content, and completely at ease in paradise.
