Why Luxury Maldives Island Escape: Milaidhoo & The Nautilus

In detail

  • Days 1-4: Milaidhoo Island - Authentic Maldivian Elegance

Days 1-4: Milaidhoo Island - Authentic Maldivian Elegance

Arrive in Malé, where you’ll be welcomed and assisted onto your scenic seaplane flight to Milaidhoo Island, a small, locally owned resort set within the UNESCO-listed Baa Atoll. Designed by a Maldivian architect, the villas blend with their surroundings – thatched roofs, natural wood, and open-air living spaces that lead straight onto the sand or the sea.

Spend your days adjusting to island time. Swim directly from your villa into clear blue lagoons, enjoy private picnics on uninhabited sandbanks, or take a guided snorkeling tour through nearby coral reefs. Milaidhoo is intimate and deeply personal, with staff who remember your preferences before you ask.

In the evenings, dine at Ba’theli, the Maldives’ only restaurant housed on a traditional wooden boat, where dishes celebrate local ingredients and centuries-old spice routes. As the sun sets, you will be treated to traditional Bodu Beru drumming, an authentic reminder of the islands’ culture and warmth.

  • Days 5-10: The Nautilus - Refined Freedom and Secluded Luxury

Days 5-10: The Nautilus - Refined Freedom and Secluded Luxury

A short seaplane transfer takes you to The Nautilus, an exclusive hideaway on Thiladhoo Island in the Baa Atoll. With only 26 villas – known here as “houses” – the resort is designed for complete freedom. There are no fixed schedules, no dress codes, and dining happens wherever and whenever you wish.

Each house offers generous space, a private pool, and direct access to the beach or lagoon. Overwater villas feature glass floors that reveal the coral world below. Days can be as active or as peaceful as you choose: dive with manta rays, enjoy private yoga sessions, or simply drift between the infinity pool and your shaded terrace.

Dining at The Nautilus is entirely bespoke. Whether you crave a seafood barbecue under the stars or a gourmet breakfast served on a floating tray in your pool, the team curates every moment around you. Evenings often end with a quiet walk along the shore or a glass of champagne as the Indian Ocean glows under moonlight.
