At a glance

Ceylon Tea Trails is Sri Lanka’s first tea bungalow resort and a Relais & Châteaux property, made up of five restored colonial-era tea planters’ bungalows set across the Bogawantalawa Valley, known as the Golden Valley of Tea, at 1,250 metres above sea level.

The five bungalows sit between four and fifteen kilometres apart, connected by walking trails through the tea gardens, with Castlereagh Lake between them. Each has its own manager, chef, and butler, and the rate covers everything including meals, drinks, afternoon tea, laundry, and taxes.

The property is operated by Resplendent Ceylon, and a Tea Planter in Residence leads guided tours through the estate from field to factory to cup. Hatton is 20 minutes from the nearest bungalow, with Colombo around 3.5 hours by road. The whole setup leans toward unhurried stays of three or four nights, with vintage Rolls-Royce transfers between the bungalows for guests wanting to experience more than one during a visit.

Dinner is a four-course meal prepared by the bungalow’s chef, drawing on homegrown vegetables and local produce, with pre-dinner cocktails and canapés included. Selected wines, beers, and soft drinks are covered throughout the day.

Sri Lanka’s tea country is a place where production and landscape are inseparable. From hand-plucked leaves to historic bungalows, this guide walks you through how the region looks, works and feels.

Kenya’s most compelling honeymoon itinerary moves between two entirely different worlds: the wildlife-dense plains of the Maasai Mara and the ancient coral-stone quietude of Lamu Island. Together, they form a journey that is both dramatically varied and precisely calibrated for couples seeking depth over spectacle.

While the Masai Mara dominates Kenya’s safari conversation, Laikipia Plateau has quietly assembled one of Africa’s most compelling luxury wildlife destinations across its network of private conservancies. Here, exclusivity is structural rather than marketed; it takes the form of land, access, and a conservation model that keeps the crowds out by design.

The Amalfi Coast offers no shortage of places to spend money well, but Positano and Ravello represent two fundamentally different arguments for how a luxury trip here should feel. Choosing between them is less a matter of preference and more a question of what kind of traveler you actually are.
