Barceló Coconut Island, formerly The Village Coconut Island, is a five-star, all-inclusive resort on a private island a short boat ride off Phuket.

Set on Ko Maphrao, known as Coconut Island, the resort reopened under Barceló after a full renovation. The all-inclusive package covers suites and one-, two-, and three-bedroom pool villas in a clean, light-filled design, many with sea views or a private outdoor jacuzzi.

Dining and drinks are part of the package, across several restaurants including the Thai beachfront Kabang, the Japanese Koko, and the Laku beach club. Three pools with waterslides, a spa, tennis, and a kids’ club round out the facilities, an easy fit for families and couples alike. The island feel is the draw, quiet and green with views over Phang Nga Bay, yet a free water taxi reaches the Phuket mainland in about seven minutes.

Food and Drink

Everything is included, with dining spread across several venues. Kabang is the Thai restaurant and bar, set right on the beach, while Koko covers Japanese and wider Asian cooking.

The Laku beach club brings a livelier, all-day mood, backed by poolside and beach bars. With all meals and drinks part of the rate, there is no need to leave the island to eat well.
Spa and Wellness

The spa operates a menu of massages, facials, and body treatments, an easy way to fill the slower parts of an all-inclusive day.

Beyond the spa, the resort is active: three outdoor pools with ocean views and waterslides, tennis courts, a gym, and watersports off the beach. Many villas add a private pool or outdoor jacuzzi.
Location

Barceló sits on Coconut Island, or Ko Maphrao, a small island off the east coast of Phuket in Phang Nga Bay. The feel is remote and green, with water views across to the bay’s limestone islands.

A free water taxi operates from Laem Hin Pier in about seven minutes, around the clock. Phuket Airport is roughly 50 minutes from the pier by car.
