10 days

From £3,340 pp

This ten-day journey takes you through some of Greece’s most picturesque islands and coastal landscapes – the very settings that inspired and featured in the much-loved film Mamma Mia!

At a glance...

Combining a touch of cinematic nostalgia with relaxed island living, the journey follows the film’s locations across Skiathos, Skopelos and the Pelion Peninsula, finishing with time in historic Athens.

You’ll visit harbours, beaches and chapels made famous on screen, travel between islands by private yacht and stay in elegant boutique hotels along the way. Between filming sites, there’s time to enjoy Greece at a slower pace – long seaside lunches, swims in clear water and evenings watching the light fade over the Aegean.

Why Sailing the Mamma Mia Trail: A Luxury Greek Island Experience

In detail

  • Days 1-2: Athens & Skiathos

    Days 1-2: Athens & Skiathos

Arrive in Greece and connect onward to Skiathos, the gateway to the Sporades islands. Your private transfer takes you to a stylish coastal hotel for a two-night stay.

Spend your first evening exploring Skiathos Old Port, where scenes from the film were shot. Enjoy dinner at a waterfront taverna as boats sway gently in the harbour and the sun sets over the sea.

The next day, set out on a private yacht to explore Skiathos’ coastline. Visit several fine-sand beaches featured in the movie, stop to swim in quiet coves and enjoy lunch on board. In the afternoon, visit Agios Nikolaos Church, one of the film’s memorable backdrops, before returning to your hotel for an unhurried evening.

  • Days 3-6: Skopelos

    Days 3-6: Skopelos

Travel by yacht to nearby Skopelos, the island that formed the heart of the film’s setting. Check in to a peaceful hillside retreat overlooking the water, where you’ll stay for four nights.

Begin with a visit to Agios Ioannis Chapel in Kastri, the small white church perched on a rocky outcrop and reached by 100 stone steps. The views across the sea make the climb worthwhile.

Over the next few days, explore the island at an easy pace. Spend a day at Kastani Beach, known for its clear turquoise water and pine-fringed sands, then travel by 4WD to Cape Amarandos for a walk along its scenic headland. Stop in the fishing village of Agnontas for a leisurely lunch at a seaside taverna.

Your final day on Skopelos is free to relax – perhaps visiting a local winery, walking one of the island’s forest trails or simply enjoying the beach.

  • Days 7-8: The Pelion Peninsula

    Days 7-8: The Pelion Peninsula

Depart Skopelos by private helicopter or boat for the Pelion Peninsula on mainland Greece. Here, mountain scenery meets the sea, with small bays and traditional stone villages scattered along the coast.

Stay in a boutique hotel surrounded by olive groves, and spend your time exploring the village of Damouchari, another filming location. Walk the coastal paths, swim in quiet coves or enjoy a drive through mountain roads with panoramic views. Evenings are relaxed, with dinners featuring local produce and Pelion wine.

  • Days 9-10: Athens

    Days 9-10: Athens

Return to Athens for the final part of your journey. Check into a centrally located hotel in the Plaka district, within walking distance of the city’s main landmarks.

Spend your last full day visiting the Acropolis and its museum or browsing shops and cafés in the surrounding streets. Your farewell dinner could be organised at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the illuminated Parthenon – a fitting end to a journey through some of Greece’s most cinematic landscapes.

  • Experience a private sunset sailing tour in Santorini with uninterrupted caldera views, peaceful swimming spots, and traditional Greek mezze served on board.

  • Discover a private family pottery workshop on Sifnos, learning traditional techniques in historic studios and creating meaningful keepsakes guided by local artisans.

  • Psarou Beach explains how Mykonos works in daylight. Guests arrive late morning, settle into pre-booked sunbeds, swim briefly, eat well, and stay put until mid-afternoon in one of the island’s few reliably calm bays.

  • A private catamaran cruise across the Santorini caldera, sailing beneath volcanic cliffs at golden hour with a Greek barbecue, open bar, and the island's best sunset view from the water.

  • A private day trip from Mykonos to one of the most extraordinary archaeological sites in the Mediterranean.
