Why Vietnam and Cambodia Highlights Journey

In detail

    Days 1-2: Hanoi

Arrive in Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital of charm and contrasts. A private transfer takes you to the Sofitel Legend Metropole, a landmark of colonial architecture. Unwind after your journey or enjoy a cocktail in the historic Bamboo Bar before a welcome dinner at Home Hanoi, where traditional dishes meet contemporary flair.

The next day, explore the city’s cultural heart. Visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Temple of Literature, and sip Hanoi’s signature egg coffee in a tucked-away café. Glide through the Old Quarter by cyclo, passing market stalls and artisans at work. In the evening, enjoy a private water puppet performance, a centuries-old art form born from northern Vietnam’s rice paddies, followed by rooftop sundowners back at your hotel.

  • Days 3-4: Halong Bay

    Days 3-4: Halong Bay

Travel east to Halong Bay, where thousands of limestone islands rise from tranquil jade waters. Board the Paradise Elegance Cruise, a boutique vessel offering panoramic decks, elegant cabins, and gourmet Vietnamese cuisine. Kayak through hidden lagoons, relax on the sundeck, and dine beneath a canopy of stars.

Wake to a soft sunrise and join a tai chi session on deck before breakfast with a view. After disembarkation, fly south to Da Nang and continue by private transfer to Hoi An, checking into the Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai – an oceanfront sanctuary of infinity pools, tropical gardens, and lantern-lit serenity.

  • Days 5-6: Hoi An

    Days 5-6: Hoi An

Discover Hoi An Ancient Town, where Japanese bridges, Chinese merchant houses, and French façades tell the story of a trading port shaped by centuries of global influence. Wander narrow streets lined with tailor shops and art galleries before venturing into the countryside for a hands-on cooking class on an organic farm.

The following day is yours to design. Unwind with a spa treatment, enjoy a private yoga or sound bowl session, or set sail on a private charter to the Cham Islands for snorkelling and a picnic on a secluded beach. Back at the resort, the evening glow of paper lanterns reflects across the water – the perfect close to your time in central Vietnam.

Stop for coffee at a local favourite before returning to the hotel to unwind or dine at Café Cardinal.

The next day, journey into the Mekong Delta. Cruise by sampan through coconut groves and floating markets, stopping at riverside workshops that produce rice paper and coconut candy. A picnic lunch beside a lotus pond completes a day steeped in the region’s rhythm and warmth. Return to Saigon for a final night in the city, perhaps with cocktails at The Deck or a rooftop dinner overlooking the skyline.

  • Days 9-11: Siem Reap
