In detail

  • Days 1-2: Colombo & The Cultural Triangle

Days 1-2: Colombo & The Cultural Triangle

Your adventure begins with a warm Sri Lankan welcome in Colombo, where your private chauffeur-guide awaits. Check into the Galle Face Hotel, a colonial-era icon overlooking the Indian Ocean. Enjoy sunset cocktails on the terrace as the waves crash below.

The following morning, journey north into the heart of the Cultural Triangle, pausing first at Anuradhapura, a sacred city of ancient stupas and pilgrimage shrines. Stand beneath the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi, a living descendant of the tree beneath which Buddha found enlightenment. Later, wander the moss-covered ruins of Kaludiya Pokuna.

Settle into your eco-retreat near Sigiriya, surrounded by rice fields and forest, a sanctuary of peace and history.

  • Days 3-5: Sigiriya & Kandy

    Days 3-5: Sigiriya & Kandy

Climb the legendary Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a masterpiece of ancient engineering rising above the emerald plains. Experience for yourself the frescoes and mirror-polished walls before standing at the summit, where the views stretch endlessly across the jungle canopy.

Continue your journey south, stopping at the Dambulla Cave Temples, a complex of gilded Buddhas and intricate murals carved into rock. Arriving in Kandy, the island’s cultural capital, wander through vibrant spice markets and pause for tea at a local café filled with the aromas of cinnamon, cardamom, and roasted coconut.

The following day, explore the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, one of Buddhism’s most revered shrines.

  • Days 6-7: Gal Oya

    Days 6-7: Gal Oya

Leave the bustle behind as you journey east to Gal Oya, one of Sri Lanka’s most secluded wildlife sanctuaries.Meet the Vedda people, the island’s indigenous tribe, during an intimate forest walk led by the village Chief. Hear stories of medicinal plants, ancestral rituals, and the deep spiritual bond between people and land.

The next day, explore Gal Oya National Park by land and water. Glide across Sri Lanka’s largest lake on a private boat safari, where herds of elephants swim between islands, and crocodiles bask on the shorelines in the sun. Later, venture inland on a jeep safari through the Nilgala region, keeping watch for sloth bears, spotted deer, and rare birds.

  • Days 8-9: Yala National Park

    Days 8-9: Yala National Park

Continue south to Yala, Sri Lanka’s most famous national park and one of Asia’s best places to see leopards in the wild. Settle into your luxury tented camp, where the sounds of the jungle are your evening soundtrack.

Embark on guided safaris through Yala’s diverse landscapes – from golden dunes to forested wetlands – spotting elephants, peacocks, and perhaps a glimpse of the elusive leopard. In the evening, dine beneath the stars, your table lit by lanterns and scored by the sounds of the surrounding forest.

At dawn, return to the wild on a sunrise safari, watching as the light breaks over the plains and the park stirs to life once more.

  • Days 10-12: Galle

    Days 10-12: Galle

Your final chapter unfolds on the southern coast in Galle, a city of colonial history. Inside the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort, walk along cobblestone streets lined with Dutch villas, spice boutiques, and art-filled cafés. Your private guide will reveal the fort’s layered history; Portuguese beginnings, Dutch expansion, and British influence.

On your final evening, experience true Sri Lankan hospitality with a home-cooked dinner hosted by Mother Washanti, whose famous curries are as comforting as her stories.

As your journey concludes, enjoy one last drive along the palm-lined coast to Colombo before you depart the following day.
