Why Australia and New Zealand Luxury Journey

In detail

  • Days 1-3: Sydney

    Days 1-3: Sydney

Arrive in Sydney and settle into your accommodation in the heart of the city. A welcome package awaits, giving you a gentle overview of the days ahead. A private transfer brings you from the airport to the city, easing you into the rhythm of your surroundings.

Your first exploration introduces you to the architectural wonder of the Sydney Opera House. Walk its sculpted interiors with a guide who reveals the stories behind its creation, then pause for a relaxed waterfront lunch with sweeping views across the harbour.

The following day takes you deep into the Blue Mountains with a private driver-guide. Begin among the sandstone ridges and eucalyptus forest, stopping for wildlife encounters and quiet lookouts above the Jamison Valley. Walk toward Wentworth Falls, take in the Three Sisters from Eagle Hawk lookout and enjoy the cool serenity of rainforest paths before returning to the city.

On your final morning in Sydney, see the harbour from the water on an intimate small-group cruise. Sail past iconic landmarks, swim at a sheltered beach if the weather calls for it, wander a historic quarantine station and enjoy tea on deck before gliding back toward the skyline.

  • Days 4-7: Tropical North Queensland

    Days 4-7: Tropical North Queensland

A private airport transfer brings you to your onward flight to Cairns, where your journey continues to the tropical haven of Port Douglas. This coastal town combines a relaxed village feel with access to two natural treasures: the Great Barrier Reef and the ancient Daintree Rainforest.

Begin with a private exploration of the Daintree. Cruise quietly along the river, looking for butterflies, kingfishers and saltwater crocodiles beneath the overhanging canopy. Enter the rainforest with a local specialist who guides you through fan palm galleries, giant ferns and ancient trees that have thrived for nearly 200 million years. Pause at Alexandra Range Lookout for an expansive view toward the Coral Sea before returning to your retreat.

Spend the next day at sea, sailing toward protected coral cays aboard a small-group yacht. Snorkel with a marine biologist, drift over coral gardens on a glass-bottom boat or simply enjoy the stillness of the white-sand cay. Lunch on board is fresh and tropical, and the journey home traces the coastline beneath the Daintree Mountains.

  • Days 7-10: Melbourne

    Days 7-10: Melbourne

Fly south to Melbourne, a city known for its layered neighborhoods, hidden laneways and thriving food culture. A private transfer brings you to your accommodation, where the evening is yours to settle and explore at your pace.

Your first full day reveals the city’s contrasts. A private guide introduces you to grand civic buildings, leafy parks, boutique-filled streets and the city’s famous cafés. Pause for tea in the Royal Botanic Gardens, then continue along the bayside toward St Kilda for views of the skyline and shoreline.

The next day, escape the city for a full-day wildlife adventure on Phillip Island. Wander boardwalks through coastal wetlands, meet koalas in their natural habitat and stand above the windswept headlands of the Nobbies. As evening falls, watch the Little Penguins return to shore in one of Australia’s most touching wildlife rituals before returning to Melbourne for the night.

  • Days 10-13: Queenstown

    Days 10-13: Queenstown

Fly across the Tasman Sea to New Zealand and arrive in Queenstown, embraced by lakes and mountains. A private transfer brings you to your accommodation, where a welcome package and sustainability kit introduce the next stage of your journey.

Begin with one of the region’s most iconic experiences: Milford Sound by air and water. Fly above glaciers, river valleys and dramatic peaks before joining a cruise through the fiord, where waterfalls tumble down sheer cliffs and seals rest on sunlit rocks. Weather permitting, your return flight offers a glacier landing for a rare moment of stillness surrounded by ice.

The following day, explore Central Otago’s wine country with a private guide. Taste cool-climate wines among sweeping hillsides, enjoy a relaxed lunch platter and wander the preserved heritage streets of Old Cromwell before returning through Kawarau Gorge.

  • Days 13-15: Auckland

Your journey continues north to Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city and a place shaped by sea breezes, volcanic ridgelines and a relaxed coastal lifestyle. A private guide leads a half-day walking exploration through historic wharves, boutique neighborhoods and creative laneways, offering insight into everyday Auckland life. Visit the Maritime Museum, stroll the waterfront and wander through the city’s most atmospheric pockets.

The following day, venture west with your guide into the Waitakere Ranges. Begin at the Arataki Centre for panoramic views across the Tasman Sea and Pacific Ocean, then walk forest trails shaded by kauri trees and giant ferns. Continue to the black-sand beaches of the west coast, where the surf rolls in against dramatic headlands.

  • Day 16: Departure

A private transfer returns you to the airport for your onward flight. You leave with memories of reef waters, rainforest stillness, mountain light and the unique warmth of two remarkable countries.
